In South Africa, we celebrate the month of August as National Women's Month and 9 August specifically as Women's Day every year. International Women’s Day has been celebrated globally since the early 1900s. Although we have made great progress since then, the problem of gender inequality persists around the world. It is a global tendency that, despite women comprising over half of a country’s population, they are still underrepresented.
We are rounding up Women’s month with the spotlight on our female staff members, as Nyeleti is committed to offering a progressive workplace and equality! We are proud to announce that currently, 41% of the 100 staff members are women and 14,25% of the technical staff are female, namely engineers, technicians and technologists! We are celebrating the social, cultural and economic, as well as political achievements of all women in our country.
